JOB DUTIES:

Sales

Supervision of Route Drivers in territory

Visiting existing accounts to check product and merchandising expectations

Assist outside sales force in opening new business in territory

Collection of payments from cash accounts or delinquent accounts.

Resetting stores

Supervision of contract labor/ merchandisers in territory

PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Manages a group of outside sales drivers, merchandisers, and spare drivers in the territory. Oversee their performance; able to recommend promotions or bonus depending on performance; able to hire and terminate in the territory.

• Calls on new prospects for customers along the employee's route and attempts to convince them of the desirability of accepting regular delivery of goods as well as getting additional space to increase sales. Completes and forwards New Customer forms to corporate office for setup in accounting system.

• Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

• Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.

• Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments

• Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management.

• Obtains or solicits orders for the employer's products from persons who have authority to commit the customer for purchases; follows up with existing accounts to address service or product issues, introduce new products, and check shelves and back stock. Meet with receiving personnel to ensure that drivers are following store procedures. Signs in at stores that require check-in.

• Trains and supervises outside sales drivers so they learn to make calls on established customers along the route and persuades regular customers to accept delivery of increased amounts of goods or new products, even though the initial sale or agreement for delivery was made by someone else in corporate or at store level. __

• Performs initial sets for store openings or remodels when needed.

• Follows up with drivers regarding delinquent accounts or other problems (invoicing, inventory, accident reports, etc.) as requested by corporate office.

• Supervision of contract labor merchandisers.

• Promptly reports new merchandisers or terminated merchandisers to accounts payable when needed.

• Trains Outside Sales / Driver to improve the placement of certain goods—for example, he would sometimes negotiate for space or additional better space to increase sales therefore make more money on commission. The attendant would check Sales / Driver list of goods to be purchased or restocked, and approve or reject the order.

• Assist in developing sales plan to support sales and profitability goals.

REQUIREMENTS:

• College degree in business preferred but not required, - independent, self-motivated and organized.

• Knowledge of basic computer functions, (i.e., downloading documents, email, internet, Microsoft Word, etc.)

• Work independently and display a professional demeanor representing clients.

• Effective communication and problem solving-skills.

• 1+ years’ experience in retail, sales, or a field-based supervisor role.

• Personal access to functional tools such as Smart phone or Smart pad and computer.

• Communicate timely with management through phone or e-mail.

• Be able to lift up to 35lbs, walk, stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time.

• Access to reliable and insured vehicle with current and valid driver’s license.
