    Job Description

    Olsson provides mechanical and electrical engineering services for a multitude of building types including commercial developments, data centers, school/university buildings, military facilities, water and waste water facilities and civil buildings such as detention centers.  As a mechanical designer you will be responsible for designing building mechanical and plumbing systems including HVAC calculations, layout, equipment selection and design, plumbing calculations, equipment selection and design, CFD modeling, specifications, cost estimates and life cycle analysis studies.  Strong communication skills are critical because you may serve as a project manager, are expected to actively participate in meetings with clients and resolve construction related issues with contractors and local jurisdiction authorities.  Many of our projects are local to the mid-west region and day trips and travel may be required for site observations or client meetings.

    • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
    • Proficiency in Revit is highly preferred (proficiency in AutoCAD is required if no prior Revit experience)
    • Associate degree in drafting preferred, but not required
    • Ability to multitask and wear multiple hats
