    Job Description

    Olsson provides construction management, administration, and observation services for both public and private projects to assure that work is performed in conformance with project documents. Our construction services include daily observation / inspection, project documentation, submittal review, design support, shop drawing review, payment application review, payroll review, and oversight for materials testing. We provide technically qualified personnel for our clients’ specific project requirements.

    We are seeking motivated and driven individual to join our Construction Administration and Management team in Manhattan, KS that has experience working on heavy highway and Department of Transportation (DOT) projects. We are seeking individuals with experience in supporting KDOT in all aspects of project delivery including inspection of asphalt paving, concrete paving, bridges, and other heavy highway construction activities.

    In this role, you will apply your expertise to execute construction administration assignments, utilizing established methods, practices, and programs. Your primary responsibilities include performing construction observation and inspection tasks under moderate direction, ensuring the successful completion of projects. You will also contribute to project success by observing all phases of construction work, verifying conformance with plans, specifications, and standards. Additionally, you may attend preconstruction conferences, assist with project layout, and provide training or mentorship for new or less experienced construction employees.

    You will travel to various job sites at different stages of construction and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

    • A minimum of three years of experience in construction observation or construction inspection
    • Experience with heavy highway or Department of Transportation (DOT) projects, such as Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT)
    • Associate degree in construction related field preferred, but not required
    • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
    • Valid drivers license with clean driving history
