Job Description

Olsson has a unique opportunity available to work directly with a client on-site.  This Substation Commissioning role will be an on-site position in the North Kansas City, MO area and will support commissioning activities related to the installation and removal of substation equipment within the client’s substations.  They will also support electricians and technicians during the construction and testing phases.  Also included will be QAQC inspections during various phases of construction, review logic diagrams and relay settings, will create/review/approve function test instructions, and load test instructions.

YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) strongly preferred  
• 6+ years of experience in substation commissioning
• Working knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution, and substation design and construction project requirements
• Ability to lead projects and self-starter to take on a variety of tasks to best serve the client and their project work
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team
• Investigation and troubleshooting of problems to find solutions
