Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President, Project Management with daily reporting to Facility Leader. Leads corporate asset protection and safety initiatives and processes at assigned location to mitigate losses and risks, reduce team member injury, and drive improvement in the facility. This position works closely with shared services from Corporate, facility leadership and various other functions, as well as external agencies and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development, implementation, training, and maintenance of facility policies, programs, and procedures to reduce team member injury and asset losses and/or risks.
- Facilitates programs involving team member engagement and behavior-based safety processes.
- Maintains ISO 45001 management systems.
- Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of all Corporate metrics and data requests.
- Drives an incident reporting process that ensures effective investigation, reporting, corrective actions, and best practice sharing throughout their business unit and Corporate.
- Manages internal team of supervisors and on-site security personnel.
- Conducts and assists with internal and external risk audits and meets with outside agencies during facility inspections/audits as required.
- Acts as a support resource in the development and review of facility specific safety training needs analysis, operational reviews, and new installation assessments.
- Partners with facility leadership to participate in key safety and asset protection team meetings, Kaizen/Gemba events, and other key meetings where representation is requested.
- Works closely with safety and asset protection counterparts and serves as region representative to cross-regional forums for best practice sharing, idea exchange, shared learning, etc.
- Participates in other key initiatives as assigned by the Director of Risk Management or Facility Leader.
Qualifications:
- Experience with start-up, 3PL, Supply Chain Management & Warehousing -a plus.
- 2+ years of experience with asset protection or loss prevention, behavior-based safety, root cause evaluation, incident management, procedure development, and training.
- Demonstrated passion for safety excellence.
- Knowledge of worker’s compensation regulations.
- Knowledge of ISO Management Systems (ISO14001 & 45001).
- Strong organizational & planning skills.
- Excellent analytical skills & problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with technology such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other standard computer applications.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (oral & written), able to interact with all levels in the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and/or environmental studies, criminal justice, or another related field.
- Relevant certifications preferred: OSHA30
- Asset Protection experience: 5 years (preferred)
- Safety experience: 5 years (preferred)
