Commercial Contract Manager
Location: Cary, NC (hybrid position + travel)
Reports to: Global Category Manager
$25M-$100M 3rd party spend
Main Purpose:
Working closely with the regional business stakeholders and global category manager to ensure that suppliers are effectively commercially contract managed during the contract lifecycle.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
For the assigned category and designated region – North America
- Responsible for RFQ, contract, performance and risk management of assigned suppliers
- Provide commercial and contract leadership for Contract Mobilization and termination
- Accountable for developing and maintaining high quality performance plans and scorecards for assigned supplier contracts
- Responsible for Service Delivery Management (Including)
- Create and Monitor SLA or KPI’s within contracts
- Reviews of contract deliverables
- Manage performance risks and issues
- Business Continuity Management
- Review supplier continuity plan
- Solvency risks
- Financial Management
- Monitor budget vs. actual spend
- Secure rebates/discounts as per contract
- Manage financial risks and issues
- Monitor supplier financial health
- Knowledge Management
- Understand how the contract operates in practice
- What changes are needed when it is re-sourced
- Agreeing (and performing, as appropriate) pre and post contract award Management (contract admin, SRM) roles and responsibilities with stakeholders.
- Implement and manage a framework to prioritize and ensure the performance management of assigned suppliers (including high value/critical/strategic partners)
- Creates statements of work based upon global frame contracts and in dialog with local stakeholders.
- Support Global Category Manager with RFQ process (Providing relevant commercial contractual frameworks)
- Takes care of supply issues and delays in case of escalation.
Key Working Relations:
- Internal: Product Supply, R&D, Finance, Marketing, Finance, HR, Regional Budget holders, Global Procurement team
- External: Tollers and 3rd Party Suppliers
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Knowledge of the industry is a must have
- 5 years procurement experience in Sourcing of the relevant Directs categories. (i.e., Tolling, Licensing)
- BA/BSc degree required. MBA/MSc preferred
- Fully proficient in English required. Other language skills preferred. (Mandarin for APAC)
- Excellent negotiation and communication, influencing skills.
- Demonstration of ability to lead in times of change with a strategic mindset
- A strong understanding of contract Management (Legal, Operational)
- Proven working knowledge of Commercial Contract Management principles and best practices
