    Omaha Track Equipment, an established Omaha based company, is seeking a Truck Technician/Welder to join our growing organization in the fast-paced Maintenance of Way (MOW) industry. Omaha Track Equipment specializes in custom building, fabricating, and maintain all types of Maintenance of Way (MOW) equipment & Construction equipment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Primary responsibilities include repair of various types of trucks & equipment with hydraulic systems. Secondary responsibilities include various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

    • Proficient in assigned welding techniques such as ARC & MIG welding and knowledge of wire & filler materials
    • Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols
    • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
    • Welding equipment maintenance
    • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
    • Process inspection, certification, and documentation
    • Conventional and precision measuring instruments
    • Class 8 and medium duty DOT inspections with general repairs of brakes, suspension, steering & electrical. Also, minor engine repair & parts replacements

    **** Minimum Qualifications:

    • Ability to achieve certification
    • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
    • Good math and measurement skills
    • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
    • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
    • Able to bend, reach, push, pull and put parts into positions for welding.
    • Able to lift 50-lbs. from a floor or bench level to a welding table or fixture.
    • Dependable and consistent attendance/punctuality
    • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and follow written/verbal instructions
    • Understand and accurately interpret/follow laws, rules, regulations, and other railroad/Omaha Track guidelines
