    Organizational Overview: Empowered Aging is a regional nonprofit serving seniors and families in Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano counties. Empowered Aging is dedicated to ensuring dignity and quality of life for older adults through a variety of community based and congregate living programs. Current programs include; Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Friendly Visiting/Telephone Reassurance, Elder Abuse, Healthcare Career Pathway, Elder Justice Lunch and Learn. Empowered Aging was founded in 1991 and has a long history of advocating and protecting the rights of older and adults with disabilities. After nearly six years of dramatic growth, expanding to serve three counties and deliver multiple programs, Empowered Aging is seeking an innovative and forward-thinking leader to oversee its programming and staff.

    POSITION OVERVIEWThe Victim Support Coordinator provides support to the first of its kind program in Solano County bringing together public and private partners to develop a strategy for education, prevention, and response to elder and dependent adult abuse. The Victim Support Coordinator is responsible for coordinating monthly multi-disciplinary team meetings with the Elder Justice Program Manager and offers a first point of contact for victims of elder and dependent abuse at the Solano Family Justice Center and the Empowered Aging office. The Victim Support Coordinator works with collaborative partners to provide all the necessary services for an elder or dependent adult victim to be able to recover and heal from abuse.

    All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and follow agency health guidelines.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Co-facilitate and coordinate monthly multidisciplinary team meetings

    Become familiar with a broad range of resource and provides and build contact to grow to network or resources and providers for victims of elder and dependent adult abuse

    Develop and provide presentations to community partners and community members on elder and dependent adult abuse and prevention

    Coordinate and provide services that are client centered

    Become familiar with the restraining order process and provide court accompaniment with clients

    Regularly attend outreach events, resource fairs and community meetings to educate and provide awareness about the program for both in person events and virtually

    Maintain ongoing excellent communication with supervisor keeping them informed of case status/caseload

    Assist victims in completing the necessary applications and documents to obtain needed services

    Use case management tracking systems for client intake, case notes, and services and referrals

    EXPERIENCE

    Experience or education in the social or health services field.

    Demonstrate a thorough understanding of issues affecting elder and dependent adults and risk factors for abuse and neglect

    Reliable Transportation and Proof of Insurance

    Must provide your own transportation

    Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

    Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and to represent the organization in a positive manner

    Respect for an understanding of diverse cultures, racial backgrounds, and socioeconomic backgrounds

    Must be able to receive a criminal records clearance

    Ability to work independently and support the overall program objectives with limited guidance

    Dedicated to overall mission of the organization and committed to working as part of a team

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspaceand other standard office equipment and database management

    Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks

    Ability to work additional or irregular hours such as early morning, evening hours, and weekends as required

    COMPENSATION$30 per hour

    REPORTS TO:

    Elder Justice Program Manager

    SCHEDULEThis position is scheduled for M-F 8am-5pm, with some additional flexibility following the completion of the first 90 days.
