    OMIC USA, Inc. is an international Analytical Laboratory and is committed to global food health and safety through analytical testing we offer to our clients.

    Location:

    This internship position is located in Portland, Oregon

    Internship Experience:

    OMIC offers a part of sample life circle.


    Step 1: Sample Receiving (1-2 weeks)

    • The Customer Service Representative performs an essential role by providing sample receiving information and communications accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner to clients and proposing improvements in their area to achieve the Company’s mission and objectives.

    Step 2: Sample Preparation (1-2 weeks)

    • The Laboratory Assistant in the Chemistry Laboratory performs an essential role to provide high quality testing services by supporting the continuous sample flow through sample preparation and processing, and proposing improvements in their area to achieve the Company’s mission and objectives.

    Step 3: Extraction in LC or GC (Option A) or QA Assistant (Option B) (4-6 weeks)

    • (Option A) Extraction Chemist performs an essential role to provide analytical services and results accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner to clients through extracting samples and proposing improvements in their area to achieve the Company’s mission and objectives
    • (Option B) Quality Assurance Assistant helps data archive closely working with the Quality Assurance Manager.

    *Due to high sample volume, the internship program coordinator might assign you either sample receiving or sample preparation while you are in Step 3.

    Program Highlights:

    • 8-12 week, Part or full time (30-40 hours per week) paid internship.

    Who You Are

    Education:

    Any Degree Level. Undergraduates who have completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework at a university, current graduate students (MS or PhD) who are available to work full time for the duration of the internship, or recent grads (within 2 years of receiving their last degree). Preferred majors: Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology

    Other Qualifications:

    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
    • Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.
    • Hands on lab experience
    • LC-MSMS is a plus
