SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER
LOCATION: Oconomowoc, WI

Due to a retirement our client is looking for a Senior Design Engineer. They are an investment casting operation and they need a seasoned person with knowledge of gating, runner and model simulation. Your duties will breakdown to 60% design and simulation and 40% working with customers. The company is located between Madison and Milwaukee. What you will be doing:
- Primary job function is to design and specify processing operations and parameters to create a finished casting that meets customer requirements and specifications. Included in this are the design of gating, developing shelling & pouring parameters, establishing post-cast (finishing) operations as well as inspection and testing requirements.
- You will work directly with customers on samples/first article parts and developing a process plan to meet their requirements while maximizing quality and profitability.
- Troubleshoot issues using root cause analysis and corrective action and implement appropriate controls.
- This position will work directly with the Foundry Process Engineer, Metallurgical Engineer, the Sales Department and the QA Department to support these objectives.
What they are looking for:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in the foundry industry, with at least some investment casting experience
- Must have gating experience
- 3D CAD skills, they use SolidWorks
- Simulation software knowledge is needed, either Procast or Magma
- Strong demonstrated project management, analytical, and communication skills are essential
- Experience with quality systems, GD&T and Lean Manufacturing training preferred
