    Project Manager - Power Plants

    Location: Long Beach CA

    Seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager with experience in Project Management and engineering for Power generation and industrial utility projects. Must have experience managing a multi-disciplinary team for power plant projects. (Experience in West preferred). Must demonstrate firm grasp of project delivery requirements and steps, client management and interactions, as well as project team organization and management.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead a multi-disciplinary A/E technical team and deliver the design solutions for major clients.
    • Oversee all activities associated with power plant systems (P&ID, heat balance, simple cycle or combined cycle, thermal or fossil) – a great role if you thrive on variety!
    • Demonstrate versatility and work simultaneously on Power Engineering/BOP equipment, Cogeneration Power plants, Central Plants and large industrial boiler projects.
    • Coordinate technical resources, review documents, and write specs for boilers, steam generators, turbines, and condensers.
    • Oversee a core team of engineers, drafters and designers.

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering. Licensed Mechanical Engineer is preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 - 12 years’ experience working in a multi-discipline, consulting engineering environment, demonstrating increased levels of responsibility managing engineering staff, projects and clients.
    • Demonstrated ability to make decisions quickly, juggle multiple tasks, communicate in a clear and concise manner, and provide effective leadership.
    • Technical knowledge and experience with Mechanical Engineering and detailed design of medium sized power plants, and large central utility plants including boiler plants.
    • Knowledge of ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes.
    • Experience with vendors and sub-contractors.
