    The job we need you for:

    We are currently looking for someone to bring their hard work and talent to our Engineering team by assisting in the maintenance, monitoring, and security of a well-established nationally deployed telecommunications network and to contribute innovative ideas to the development of exciting new technologies.

    The 4G/5G Core Network Engineer will have responsibilities such as the following:

    • Develop, deploy, and optimize 4G VoLTE, 5G Network Core & roaming functionality with major US Commercial Carriers.
    • Integrate and configure network systems and simulation tools with back-end 4G, 5G network elements.
    • Provide technical systems engineering support to assist with eNodeB, gNodeB 4G/5G network core deployments.
    • Analyze Evolved Packet Core (EPC) network performance and investigate the root cause(s) of performance degradations.
    • Perform on demand analysis of specific core network issues (new performance degradation, customer complaints, etc.).
    • Develop and integrate health and signal spectrum analysis monitoring and automation.
    • Buildout lab for RAN and radio technologies, integration with evolved packet core to perform testing in different scenarios.
    • Carry out demonstration project design, setup, and presentation.
    • Collect Wireshark traces identify/troubleshoot root cause(s) of core network issues.

    Necessary technical skills you’ll need:

    • Deep knowledge in open-source CORE/eNodeB/gNodeB architecture (VoLTE IMS knowledge is a plus).
    • Experience with network or signaling protocols such as TCP/IP, SIP, SIP-I, S1AP, Diameter, GTP C/U.
    • Understanding of different mobile network interfaces.
    • Understanding of 3GPP standards.

    The tools used most in this position are:

    • Python, C/C++
    • Wireshark
    • Linux, GNU CLI, Postgres

    We think you'd feel right at home in this role if you also have experience with software-defined radios and/or software telecommunications networks.

    Education and experience:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field with working experience OR
    • A Master’s Degree in Wireless Communications or related field with working experience.
