    Job Summary

    Spiritual Hands is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined On-Call Fleet Safety & Maintenance Assistant to support our healthcare transportation fleet during after-hours operations. This role is responsible for routine vehicle inspections, basic preventative maintenance, yard vehicle movement, and responding to emergency situations such as flat tires and minor vehicle issues.

    This position is ideal for someone dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable being on-call to ensure our vehicles remain safe, operational, and ready to transport patients when needed.

    Key Responsibilities

    Move and position company vehicles safely within the yard or designated areas

    Perform routine vehicle inspections, including:

    Checking tire pressure and tread

    Checking oil levels and basic fluids

    Visual safety inspections for damage or mechanical concerns

    Perform basic preventative maintenance (non-mechanic duties only)

    Document and report vehicle issues promptly to management

    Respond to after-hours and on-call emergency situations, including:

    Flat tire assistance

    Minor roadside or vehicle support

    Coordinating repairs when issues exceed scope

    Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and yard areas

    Follow all safety protocols and company policies

    Qualifications

    Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

    Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance (tires, oil, fluids)

    Ability to operate and maneuver vehicles safely

    Ability to work independently and respond promptly to on-call requests

    Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded

    Comfortable working after-hours, nights, weekends, and being on-call

    Preferred (Not Required)

    Experience in fleet support, vehicle maintenance, or transportation services

    Yard driver, fleet assistant, or roadside support experience

    Experience working with company or healthcare transportation vehicles

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs

    Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

    Ability to climb in and out of vehicles safely

    Compensation & Performance Review

    Starting pay: $16.00 per hour

    90-day performance review

    Opportunity for pay increase based on performance, reliability, attendance, and on-call responsiveness

    Important Notes

    This position does not require mechanic certification

    Duties are limited to inspections, basic preventative maintenance, and support services

    Advanced mechanical repairs will be handled by licensed professionals
