    On-Site Rx has anexciting opportunity for a dependable and caring pharmacy technician to work at City Employee Pharmacy in Lexington, KY. Theposition is full-time with 30-40 hours per week. The pharmacy is open Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 6:00pm, Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm and Saturday 8:30am - 12:00pm. We take a lunch from 1:30pm - 2:00pm M-F.     On-Site Rx pharmaciesoffer a unique and innovative setting. We provide closed door pharmacyservices for self-insured employers which means we will only beservicing employees and their dependents for the City of Lexington. The setting is similar infeel and operation to an independent retail pharmacy, but no outside insurancecoverage is accepted – meaning issues with insurance carriers are limited.

    Job Purpose

    The Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in pharmacy operations, assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications, ensuring the accuracy and safety of medication orders, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients and patients. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while adhering to all applicable compliance laws and regulations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    •Medication Dispensing: Accurately and efficiently fill prescription orders, ensuring the correct medication, dosage, and labeling, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.

    •Patient Care: Assist patients and healthcare providers with prescription inquiries, providing information on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.

    •Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels of medications and supplies, performing inventory counts and restocking as necessary.

    •Pharmacy Operations: Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment, such as automated dispensing systems and compounding equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.

    •Prescription Data Entry: Enter prescription information into the pharmacy management system accurately, verifying insurance and patient information.

    •Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on filled prescriptions and maintain accurate records, addressing any discrepancies or issues promptly.

    •Compliance: Adhere to all pharmacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA, FDA, and DEA guidelines, to ensure the safety and confidentiality of patient information and medications.

    •Collaboration: Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and resolve medication-related issues.

    •Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns, demonstrating empathy, and maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.

    •Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    •High school diploma or equivalent.

    •Current state-issued Pharmacy Technician license or certification as required by law

    Physical Conditions & Requirements

    Work is primarily conducted in a retail pharmacy setting, which may include standing for extended periods. Exposure to various medications and healthcare equipment. Interaction with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to lift and carry boxes or containers of medications and supplies (up to 25 pounds). Manual dexterity for handling medication containers, labels, and pharmacy equipment. Visual acuity for reading small print on prescription labels and using computer screens.
