Our agency, in mental and behavioral health is looking for highly organized, professional, and enthusiastic Billing Control Clerk position verifies, enters, and evaluates computerized billing and general office information systems and data.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
High School Education or equivalent, and
One year's clerical office experience involving computer data control, clerical or
statistical work. Prior billing/data control experience preferred.
insurance carrier(s). An acceptable alternate means of transportation necessary to
the completion of one’s duties may be considered.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
Knowledge of LA County DMH billing procedures, Clinitrak, Medi-Cal Eligibility is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly operates a computer
and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Communicates with others in the office environment. The employee frequently
moves about inside the office and access files, cabinets, and other office machinery.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses
standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets
and fax machines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY TASKS:
control duties including:
a. verifies the accuracy of source data and collects corrected data when
necessary from data source personnel;
b. reviews, corrects patient demographic, episodic and funding information
c. processes EDI billing files and transactions;
d. corrects billing claims.
e. inputs data into the Clinitrak or other computerized systems;
f. researches claim denials, corrects data and inputs and/or returns corrected
claims to DMH;
g. review and submit third party billing;
Setup Clinitrak user accounts for new employees
Generate Medi-Cal eligibility reports for clients as requested
Provide assistance to clients with reinstating their Medi-Cal benefits
ADDITIONAL/SUPPORT TASKS:
Assist clinical staff with client documentation
