    Job Purpose


    This position is responsible for verifying and analyzing complex information in order to evaluate and decision mortgage applications in accordance with policy and procedure and ensure these applications meet regulatory guidelines.

    Job Duties

    • Underwrite and decision multiple types of loans to comply with state and federal regulations.
    • Review and analyze appraisal reports to determine loan to value ratios and acceptable collateral standards for decisions.
    • Verify and analyze W2s, personal and business tax returns, and financial statements to calculate debt to income ratios for decisions.
    • Review and analyze title reports, title policies, surveys and endorsements to determine vesting and lien position for decisions.
    • Apply independent discretion and decisions when determining conditions for loans. Validate processing conditions.
    • Restructure loans and/or provide counter offers with alternative products or programs to meet borrower needs and underwriting guidelines.
    • Provide pre-approvals as requested to enable the home selection process.
    • Additional projects as assigned.

    Education, Experience and Job Skills


    • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
    • 3+ years of underwriting and complex financial analysis required
    • Direct Endorsement (DE) certification of FHA and VA products preferred but not required
    • Proficient use of technology required
    • Mortgage, real estate and banking regulatory knowledge required
    • Proven ability to handle high volume and prioritize tasks required
    • Strong oral and written communication and negotiation skills required
