    Job Description

    The Onboarding Specialist is an experienced, focused, energetic, and enthusiastic team member that leads the pre-employment hiring processes for all new team members; with a focus on providing a best-in-class new hire experience. This role is responsible for all facets of the new hire journey including background screening, pre-employment drug testing, completion of required company forms/documents, and all other processes that need to be conducted prior to a new hire first day. This role will work autonomously and efficiently providing support, guidance, and proactive support to new team members during their new hire journey. In addition to the above responsibilities, the onboarding specialist will assist with the resolution of current team member inquiries via the Team Member Service Center.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide exceptional service by addressing team member inquiries related to HR policies and processes.
    • Oversight and facilitation of companywide onboarding processes, including verification of documentation for security clearances, ensuring pre-employment requirements are met.
    • Track status of background checks, pre-employment paperwork and facilitate all required pre-employment screening.
    • Enter data into various Human Resources systems, worksheets, and databases, maintain records and compile reports from systems as needed.
    • Triage and respond in a timely manner to team member and new hire inquiries via phone, email, and the team member service center ticketing system.
    • Promote McGee Air Services as the “best place to work” through deliberate and experience focused communication and engagement throughout the entire new hire journey.
    • Aid Human Resource team with compliance.
    • Maintain confidentiality and ensure secure handling of applicant and team member information as well as company data.
    • Assists with various station support activities to include airport badging, parking, US Customs, and/or other certification and/or clearance requirements.
    • Take ownership of large-scale projects that contribute to improved team member experience.
    • Manage and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring a positive experience and timely resolution.
    • Prepare, organize, and maintain pre-employment and station personnel-related records and files, ensuring accuracy and record retention compliance.
    • Assist with the exit interview process.
    • Travel in support of new hire onboarding processes and presentations.
    • Collaborate with HR team members to address common concerns and share insights into process improvement.

    • Perform other duties as assigned to support McGee’s successful business operation.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required

    • 1 or more years of experience in human resources or customer service.
    • Detail oriented with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). ****
    • Excellent communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening). ****
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to cope with conflicts caused by competing priorities. ****
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team-oriented and flexible in approach to change and type of work assigned.
    • Passion for customer service and high expectations for quality and accuracy.
    • Ability to influence others, work cross-functionally, and contribute positively to a team-oriented, safety-first culture.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to travel up to 25%, sometimes overnight.
    • Ability to obtain & maintain an airport SIDA badge and US Customs seal.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule that could include some early mornings, late nights, or weekends.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    Preferred

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
    • Experience using HRIS systems.
    • Experience working in a ticketing system or call queue.
    • Aviation, Transportation, or related industry experience.

    Additional Information

    Airport Badge Requirements

    Important notification for roles working at or requiring access to an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge issued by the airport authority. Depending on the role you may also be required to obtain a US Customs seal and/or USPS security clearance. If an employee does not qualify for or has the necessary clearance revoked, the employee will be terminated.
