    Once Upon a Childcare is looking for a Toddler Teacher to join our team As a teacher, you will create an age-appropriate lesson plan, build relationships with your families, maintain cleanliness throughout your classroom, update parents through our daily reports, and show patience and kindness to children. We are looking for happy, smiling faces to join our one-of-a-kind program and create a fun, engaging environment for our children and families.

    Pay starts between $16.00 - $20.00 based on education and experience. On-going pay raises for all employees are awarded based on meeting program standards and expectations. If you are a good fit for our program, we love to promote and help all our teaching staff grow! Career advancement is always available, and we are willing to assist.

    Benefits:

    Full-time staff members have the ability to earn up to 96 hours of PTO and 66 hours of sick pay a year.

    Holiday pay will be paid based on your individual average hours worked and will be paid to each employee after their 60-day probationary period.

    Responsibilities:

    Develop a fun and creative lesson plan suitable for children between 24-36 months of age

    Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children

    Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem

    Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments

    Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc...).

    Track children's progress and report to parents

    Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche.

    Collaborate with other educators.

    Help with potty training

    Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    Experience working in a licensed childcare facility

    Child development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses and/or a Level 2 or higher in the PDIS credential system

    Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods

    Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms

    Excellent communication and instructional skills

    Ability to act as a mediator between children

    Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable

    Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
