    Once Upon a Childcare is looking for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher to join our team as a Substitute! As a Substitute, you will fill in for teachers and assist with any planned activities/routines. We are looking for happy, smiling faces to join our one-of-a-kind program and create a fun, engaging environment for our children and families.

    Pay starts between $20.00 - $23.00 based on education and experience.

    Responsibilities:

    Assist the lead teacher in carrying out daily planned activities

    Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments

    Assist in any capacity needed

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    Experience working in a licensed childcare facility

    Child development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses and/or a Level 2 or higher in the PDIS credential system

    Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods

    Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms

    Excellent communication and instructional skills

    Ability to act as a mediator between children

    Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable

    Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain

    Benefits:

    All Employees will accrue Personal Time (PTO) at the rate of 1.92 hours earned for every 40 hours worked. All new employees will start accruing PTO immediately and will be available for use after a 60-day probationary period. PTO hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.

    Sick Pay will be accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked. A maximum of 48 hours will be applied to each employee's policy and paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.

    Holiday pay will be paid based on your individual average hours worked and be paid to each employee after their 60-day probationary period.
