· Job Summary: The HVAC Lead Installation Technician would be responsible for complete and satisfactory installation of residential HVAC equipment and accessories. Oversees the work of Assistant Installation Technician to ensure work is performed correctly, communicates with customer to provide suitable comfort solutions, answer questions, resolve problems, and ensure customer satisfaction.
· Essential Jobs and Duties:
· Installs heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment, as well as accessories, in accordance with company standards/ requirements and manufacturer specifications.
· Designs, fabricates, and installs various ducts and duct fittings, as necessary. Performs limited diagnostics, as necessary.
· Completes installation forms which reflect tasks performed for reporting accuracy and future comparison.
· Effectively communicates with customer regarding questions, concerns, and problems.
· Performs start-ups on heating, cooling systems, and other components. •
· Responsible for the delivery and removal of equipment needed to complete installation work.
· Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are being effectively use, maintained, and accounted for.
· Maintains safe working conditions installation crew.
· Ensures the company vehicle is properly stocked, returns defective warranty parts to the branch, and orders/replenishes vehicle stock as needed.
· Maintain safety and quality as a top priority
· Trains apprentice to:
o Properly fill out organize job folder. •
o Set and air conditioner, heat pump, furnace, or airhandler.
o Pull vacuums on refrigerant systems to test for tightness.
o Correctly install all versions of thermostats and wiring.
o Program all programmable thermostats.
o Install, wire, and plumb all IAQ products.
o Install duct work transitions in sheet metal and ductboard.
o Install gas lines, flue pipes, and wiring high and low voltage wiring applications as well as run flue liners. 177 Section C: Operations
· Qualifications:
Must have a 3 to 5 years of verifiable installation in HVAC Field Experience
Knowledge of the fundamental of operational functionality of residential heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment.
Knowledge of the layout and installation requirements of residential duct work and fittings.
Skilled in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting problems with electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems on residential HVAC equipment
Strong communication and customer service skills
Must have appropriate trade tools.
Ability to create detailed job notes in the customer’s account for future reference.
Ability to both teach and learn by sharing thoughts/experiences with your coworkers in meetings and in one-to-one interactions.
Willingness to try new ideas and recommend process improvements to your manager with the objective of improving efficiency/effectiveness.
Frequent communication with dispatchers so that they know the status of each job for scheduling purposes.
EPA Certification.
NATE Certification
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to pass background and drug screening test
