We are opening personalization departments in our three locations across the country and looking for a person to develop the department in our Ohio facility. We are initially offering laser engraving and embroidery. Candidates must have experience in production leadership and be able to create a high-functioning department from the ground up. They’ll work closely with our Director of Personalization and others across the company. As volume increases, the supervisor will be responsible for staffing/scheduling as needed to meet production requirements.
Responsibilities
Stages products for personalization (unpacking, prepping, hooping, etc.)
Inspects products pre-production to ensure product quality
Remains updated on current personalization products and the best way to set up machines for maximum productivity and minimum shrinkage
Applies personalized messages to merchandise using a variety of methods and equipment
Applies any decorative add-ons to product, such as color fill
Inspects merchandise post-production to ensure accuracy of personalization and that all quality standards have been met
Confirms integrity of orders by ensuring all pieces are accounted for and appropriately repackages product
Performs maintenance on machines and understands when to refer machines for repair; keeps logs on maintenance and repairs
Maintains all supporting software and hardware used in the personalization process.
Maintains a clean and safe department
Supports staffing needs of temporary and permanent labor
Ensures adequate training on machines and software as department grows
Tracks production and reports numbers daily
Improves efficiencies and reduces downtime of equipment
Meets established productivity and quality standards
Adapts to business needs through willingness to cross-train and perform other tasks as needed
Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
2-3 years of experience operating and maintaining computers, machinery, and equipment in a production or manufacturing environment.
Experience operating and maintaining embroidery, laser engraving, or other comparable machines in a production environment a plus. Gravotech and Tajima preferred.
Experience in Adobe CS (ie. Illustrator and Photoshop) a plus
Proficient in the use of PC/MS Office Suite
Ability to meet goals in a changing and potentially fast-paced environment
Highly organized self-starter with experience in leading a team
Fluent in English, write legibly and communicate effectively
Good spelling and grammar skills required
Basic Windows operating system knowledge
Ability to handle physical workload
