Position Overview: Atlanta Prep is seeking a dedicated and patient One-on-One ELA and Math Teacher to provide individualized English Language Arts and Math instruction to students with diverse learning profiles. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literacy and math instruction, skilled in differentiating instruction, committed to helping students build confidence and proficiency in reading and writing, and confidence and mastery in math .
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized (1:1) math & ELA instruction tailored to each student’s academic level and learning style
Develop and implement engaging, student-centered lesson plans
Break down complex math concepts into manageable, accessible steps
Support foundational literacy skills including phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
Collaborate with staff to support student goals
Track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Maintain a structured, positive, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
Strong understanding of foundational literacy and language development
Strong understanding of foundational math concepts
Ability to differentiate instruction and use creative teaching strategies
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Patience, flexibility, and a passion for helping students succeed
Preferred, but Not Required
Experience working with students with special needs (preferred)
Background in special education or ABA environments (preferred)
Experience with individualized instruction or tutoring (preferred)
Familiarity with structured literacy approaches (preferred)
Exposure to or willingness to learn the Eureka Math curriculum (preferred)
Schedule:
Full-time, aligned with the school calendar (less than 200 working days/ year)
Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (shorter workday)
