    BOARD ENGAGEMENT - VOLUNTEEROneOC is proud to provide Board Engagement Services that continue to build nonprofit capacity throughout the region, connecting our most passionate emerging leaders, executives, and retirees in support of their missions.

    Nonprofit: Orange County Ronald McDonald HousePosition: Board of TrusteesLocation: Orange, CAOrganization Background: At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California, we express our vision- a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage, and joy- along with our mission- to provide comfort, care, and support to children and families in Southern California- through our programs. These programs include six Ronald McDonald Houses including two Family Rooms located at CHOC Children's Hospital in Orange and CHOC Children's at Mission Hospital. We are one of the only Ronald McDonald House Charities chapters across the world that operates a cost-free, medically supervised Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times.About the Position:Ronald McDonald House of Orange County (RMHOC) seeks to attract Leadership volunteers for its House Board of Trustees who contribute their time, talent, and treasure and promote RMHOC work in the community. The Orange County House is currently governed by a board representing a variety of professions, areas of expertise, and communities throughout the region, click HERE to learn more.Examples of desired attributes:

    A real interest in representing and promoting RMHOC’s mission and fundraising efforts throughout the community with Personal and professional ethics and integrity

    Strategic & Innovative Leaders with expertise in at least one of the following areas:

    Financial management; entrepreneurship, business, law, development/fundraising, grantmaking, media/PR/communications; property management, design and/or construction services; human resources; IT; medical field

    Previous Ronald McDonald House engagement experience preferred

    Specific duties of the Board of Trustees include:

    Attend Board of Trustees meetings every other month, typically Jan, March, May, July, September, and November, and a Board Retreat annually

    Develop, approve and evaluate goals and objectives to further the organization’s mission

    Ensure the financial accountability for the organization

    Demonstrate a commitment to fundraising by making personal contributions and/or leadership in securing donations from others. A typical gift commitment is $5,000 per year.
