Mission Statement: Our organization empowers residents to improve the quality of life in the Madison Park Neighborhood and the surrounding South-East Santa Ana communities. GREEN-MPNA promotes youth educational development, health equity, and a safe and green environment. GREEN-MPNA is a fiscally-sponsored project of OneOC. GREEN-MPNA has built exemplary programs including a set of elementary, middle school and high school STEM programs; and an array of health equity programs; and community actions for environmental justice. This position will provide support for the coordination, management, and implementation of a curriculum across multiple programs.
Position Summary: Manage and coordinate the health equity programs including curriculum development, implementation, assessment and outreach. Assist the recruitment of participants for the health equity programs and volunteers. Assist in developing, promoting, and strengthening the programs as well as help bridge connections with SAUSD, UC Irvine, City of Santa Ana, OC Healthcare Agency, community residents, non-profits, and other key stakeholders.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute the Health Equity Programs and track performance
Effectively interacts with coworkers, volunteers, Promotores, participants, and community-based organizations
Facilitates existing and new partnerships with key contacts and stakeholders
Creates marketing content for health equity programs
Performs other duties as assigned.
Health Equity Programs Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the GREEN-MPNA Health Promotores Group and their outreach efforts in Santa Ana
Assists other staff with collection of data for program participation and grant reports pertaining to the Health Equity Programs
Manage, coordinate, and develop curriculum for the Health Equity Programs including Wellness Wednesday Workshops and Zumba classes among others.
Coordinate with partner organizations to increase base building in Southeast Santa Ana and assist in expanding the Health Equity Programs and their sustainability
Connect resident leaders to existing resources, such as training, workshops, leadership opportunities, and other resources available with the City, County, Santa Ana Unified School District, colleges, key partners, and other non-profits.
Conduct outreach to resident leaders of the most marginalized/historically disinvested communities in Southeast Santa Ana, verbally and in writing, in English and in Spanish.
Increase the capacity of adult and youth residents, local organizations and systems to be better connected, trained and involved in health equity programs in their community and their neighborhood.
Support the development of a neighborhood network that connects neighborhood groups to each other for mutual support and for policy campaigns in areas of youth STEM, Health Equity and Environmental Justice.
Support the convening of community forums, events, and other activities led by the residents and neighborhood groups.
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or related fields (e.g. Public Policy, Public Health, Urban Planning, Community Development) preferred but not required.
At least one year of work experience in coordination and organizing in low-income Hispanic/Latinx communities or resident driven place based initiatives
Previous work experience in Santa Ana (or Orange County) is a plus, but not required.
Valid Driver’s license and car insurance and reliable vehicle.

Work Environment
Work from a local elementary school while programming is taking place. Off-site visits with local community partners and remote work from home.
