    SUMMARY:

    Under the general supervision of the Director of Business Development & Partnerships, the Marketing & Communications Manager organizes, oversees, coordinates and delivers marketing, communications, and media relations strategies and tactics to support the organizational mission, goals, products and services to its constituencies. Responsibilities include website content and management, marketing strategies and tactics, creating presentations and reports, branding standards enforcement, the development of advertising and promotional materials and internal and external communications, including emails, social media, e-newsletters, blogs, and press releases.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Develops and implements an innovative, strategic marketing and communication plan.

    Leads the planning and development of marketing materials by identifying communications needs.

    Works with program leaders to determine outcomes for communications in various media in accordance with strategic marketing and communication plan.

    Understands and segments target customers for targeted campaigns

    Develops and implements a social media strategy; implements social media presence on all relevant platforms; researches and presents new ideas focused on organizational targets.

    Creates, develops and manages content for OneOC website; maintains a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties; manages identified CRM/database management systems.

    Uses desktop publishing and related software/hardware to design and develop attractive formats and related content supportive of OneOC mission for printed materials, including marketing brochures, e-newsletters, Board documents, toolkits and promotional and publicity documents.

    Coordinates, writes and edits internal and external materials, including social media outlets, proposals, newsletters, assigned company collateral, email marketing campaigns, web content, and other assigned projects.

    Sources, writes and distributes press releases, develops and coordinates media pitches, tracks results and proactively manages relationships with targeted media outlets.

    Stays informed of communications trends and opportunities; monitors and presents relevant data, trends, successes and exceptions.

    Uses external and on-line communication to support fundraising, marketing, program and advocacy efforts.

    Enforces branding standards and ensures branding and image is consistent throughout all communications.

    Seeks and develops opportunities to use marketing and communications to enhance the image of OneOC.

    Prepares OneOC leaders with effective communications tools for both written and oral delivery.

    Coordinates production of finished products with printers/publishers; maintains positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.

    Communicates effectively and courteously with all contacts – internal and external. Works collaboratively with diverse people, varying in seniority and work experiences.

    Organizes workload throughout the day to meet project timelines and deadlines.

    Supports the vision and goals of OneOC.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Schedules and disseminates print and electronic communications and placement of advertising as needed.

    Creates and coordinates production of internal staff materials such as business cards, name plates, on-boarding, employee recognition and promotional collateral as needed.

    Organizes and attends events such as conferences, seminars, receptions, and exhibitions as requested.

    Attends meetings and trainings as requested.

    Assists with other duties as assigned on a regular or occasional basis.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Degree in public relations, marketing, advertising, journalism, communication or other related field preferred.

    Minimum of 3-5 years experience in solid writing and editing, interactive marketing, web/graphic design, public relations or related field preferred.

    Possesses strong written and oral communications skills; impeccable attention to detail is a must.

    Demonstrated ability to write and edit for various communications channels for both internal and external audiences and in building media relations required; must have experience with development of executive presentations, speeches and written communications.

    Must be highly organized with proven ability to prioritize responsibilities, handle multiple deadlines and be proactive and productive in a fast-paced work environment.

    Demonstrated ability to work independently on self-directed projects and to collaborate in a team environment to drive marketing campaigns from concept through completion.

    Must have a sense of urgency and a strong desire to be part of building something new.

    Possesses excellent project management skills with an affinity for consistently producing high-quality work and yield.

    WordPress or web content management program experience required.

    Experience with Salesforce or other CRM programs preferred.

    Successful experience with content management, social media communications, photo/video editing tools and measurement tools required.

    Possesses a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities and a flexible team-oriented approach to working with others with an intellectual curiosity and professional drive.

    COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS:

    Uses Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Suite as well as Internet and email programs proficiently.

    Knowledge of Salesforce and WordPress programs.

    Has strong working knowledge of analytics tools, HTML and CSS.

    Has good general knowledge of computer operations; uses a keyboard and calculator proficiently and with a high degree of accuracy.

    Uses typical office equipment (i.e., fax, phone, copiers).

    PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk. Stands and walks throughout the day.

    Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours or more each day.

    Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses and vision sufficient to use equipment and drive a car safely.

    Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and on the telephone.

    Lifts up to 10 pounds regularly and 25 pounds occasionally.

    Exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.

    MENTAL AND REASONING REQUIREMENTS:

    Uses critical thinking skills to create documents and spreadsheets and interpret information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Able to set goals based on available information and to plan work in order to meet deadlines. Able to project likely future occurrences based on current or historic data.

    Uses decision-making skills and judgment to work independently to resolve problems; able to identify those situations that require supervisor intervention for a solution.

    Able to formulate appropriate responses to requests for services and information from internal or external customers.

    Able to understand, comply and implement established processes, practices and systems.

    Able to present effective and compelling messages to individuals, groups and the public.

    Uses skill and judgment to ensure written or verbal outputs are clear, accurate, grammatical and of appropriate tone.

    OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Meets all applicable safety requirements for the position and work environment including prompt injury reporting.
