Our client an established specialty energy and industrial services specialty manufacturer located in S. Louisiana has engaged us to find an Automation Controls Manager.  This division employs several hundred people who have done an impressive job of staying cash flow positive and profitable during one of the most challenging economic eras we've ever seen.  The company has and continues to maintain a great corporate culture and also has excellent benefits and competitive compensation.

The Automation Controls Manager will supervise a small staff of electrical and mechanical designers and service personnel to design, support installation during manufacturing and support post installation technical support for service issues of commissioned equipment.  Primary controls used in their equipment are PLC's with Allen Bradley and Siemens used in most applications.

Keys for success include:

• BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engr. from an accredited 4 yr. brick/mortar university
• 3-10+ years in designing/programming PLC instrumentation for heavy machinery/equipment - with preference to experience with offshore O&G and or marine equipment
• Exp. with CAD, Finite Element software (ie. Ansys or similar), 3D modeling software ~ Solidworks or Inventor
• Ability to generate, read and or mark up electrical and or mechanical schematics and systems drawings
• Experience or aptitude in directing-coordinating/leading work of others and love for working proactively with professionals and craft workers on the manufacturing/shop floor
• Ability to travel occasionally offshore or other locations for key installations and or high profile maintenance/service work.
