    TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS PRACTICE LEADER – TRAFFIC ANALYSIS AND MODELING (3508)

     A nationally recognized full-service integrated transportation engineering and planning firm is seeking a Transportation Systems Practice Leader – Analysis and Modeling. The practice leader will have the opportunity to grow and expand the firm’s existing firm's traffic and transportation systems analysis and modeling group. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of traffic engineering and transportation project planning, transportation systems analysis and modeling. Candidates should have a proven track record completing traffic design projects as well as generating | converting new business with local municipalities, counties, and the state. The practice leader will have the opportunity to gain ownership in the company and have an impact on firm operations. As the practice leader you will spearhead the effort in selecting staff for the transportation systems Group and shaping the business development efforts for detail design of transportation projects.

    Your Role With The Company:

    • This position will report directly to the Director of Engineering.
    • Responsible for mentoring and leading a team of 20 to 50 engineering design professionals in multiple offices while maintaining a seller-doer role within the organization.
    • Responsible for all aspects of the firm's traffic analysis and modeling group including multimodal transportation planning and modeling, traffic operations analysis, travel demand modeling, transit planning |operations. Project types include but are not limited to traffic design, drainage, transit, and traffic-related design projects.
    • Ensure high morale within the traffic analysis and modeling design group, consistent quality of deliverables, customer satisfaction, and strong financial performance.
    • Responsible for meeting the Unit's goals and performance metrics, executing successful business development efforts, leading large and/or complex projects, sourcing, attracting and selecting talent, and effectively developing and mentoring staff.

     Community Information:

    This position can be located in either Austin, Houston, San Antonio or Dallas. Preference is for this position to be located either in the corporate headquarters or the Houston office.

     Background Profile:

    • · BS degree in Civil Engineering.
    • · 15+ years of experience in all aspects of in all aspects of traffic analysis and operations and Project Management.
    • · Texas Professional Engineering Licensure.
    • Project Management of multidisciplined projects [TXDOT preferred]. Ability to manage multiple regional and nation program with multiple clients simultaneously.
    • Demonstrated leadership and experience in mentoring younger staff. Develop and maintain an organizational structure that maximizes efficiency across the sector organization and develop career paths for personal.
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead competitive marketing pursuits and develop client relationships in both the public and private sector to identify and win work at the municipal, county, state and national level. Ensure the upcoming pipeline of work is adequate to meet company goals and growth.
    • Strong orientation to team leadership style of management. Recruit team members, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of team member competence
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with all levels of the organization. Ensure the market sector is responsive and communicates effectively
    • Fully shoulder all client feedback and relay praise to team, or provide corrective measures if the client is not fully satisfied
    • Self-starter, tenacious negotiator with high energy and outstanding analytical skills.
