Our client, a private, well funded, stable 50+ y/o specialty industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking a technical writer to continue their excellence in communicating and training their users and service professionals in how to install, use and maintain their industrial equipment.  Client is one of a handful of specialty equipment manufacturers in the world and is very stable and growing.

The position is open due to long time employee's retirement after many years of successful service. Incumbent retired technical writer will help train/mentor new technical writer to become fully trained.  Technical writer will ideally have mechanical background and interests, i.e. rebuilding cars, mechanical equipment or similar.

Keys for success include:

• Mechanical training and or aptitude, i.e. hobbies of working on cars, motorcycles etc.
• Have good writing skills, ability to succinctly communicate to technical audiences, including mechanics/service professionals, instrumentation techs, equipment users
• Love for thoroughly researching topics, meeting with multi-discipline design, manufacturing and maintenance professionals to thoroughly understand the company's mechanical systems/machines
• 4 year college degree (preferred)
• Experience in writing technical manuals/documents preferred
• Experience with MS Office
• Experience with ArborText (preferred) or related technical writing software (preferred)
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Residency Required
