    Our client, a very stable and growing independent with U.S. and international operations, is seeking a Sr. Reservoir Engineer to help them manage their operations in the U.S. Lower 48 with emphasis/current or recent experience in Barnett and or Eagle Ford shale basins. 

    We've worked with this client for well over 10 years and all of the professionals we've helped join this company are either still there working/happy or have voluntarily retired after having fulfilling careers, positive relationships and an usually good life/work balance. 

    The company has an outstanding corporate culture, views the energy business as a long term strategic investment which gives them excellent stability and work/life balance.  Their parent company/ownership is quite patient and long term in view, but is also very thorough in evaluating data/acquisitions-so high attention to detail and the ability to provide data/answers to parent company management's questions are key in terms of approach/attitude and longevity in the position/company.

    The position offers a hybrid work schedule with 2 days in their office in Houston and 3 days from home.  They pay very competitively and this is a direct hire, full time position with excellent employee benefits.

    Keys/Requirements for success include:

    • BS in Engineering-Petroleum preferred. MBA preferred
    • 10-25 years of shale experience (more than 50% with an operating company). Gas shale basins experience preferred.
    • 5+ years of Reservoir Engineering experience in Barnett Shale with an operating company, additional experience in Eagle Ford and Haynesville Shale preferred
    • Experience in SEC Reserves analysis, Deal Screening, A&D in unconventional reservoirs.
    • Must have extensive reservoir engineering experience. Some production engineering experience preferred.
    • Proficient computer skills, especially in Aries/PhdWin. Proficiency in Spotfire/OFM desired.
    • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Residency status is required

    Position Responsibilities (preliminary)

    • The Sr. Reservoir Engineer will Assist with management of non-operated assets in Barnett Shale with anticipated move into operating position.  So communication and persuasion with data to influence operators is a key to success.
      • 1000+ PDP wells
      • Quarterly budget forecasts
      • AFE economic analysis for new drills
      • Prepare annual budget and co-ordinate reserves with third-party reserves consultant.
    • Assist with deal screening, analysis of new acquisitions
