Our client is seeking a Welding Engineer to employ their extensive knowledge of engineering, metallurgy, materials, welding, and standards to design, examine, and evaluate welds. The Welding Engineer should possess a deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and the use of related machinery and tools.
Essential Duties:
- Develop company Standards for materials, weld-joint designs, and welding processes
- Design welded parts, assemblies, and structures
- Determine welding processes such as material/procedure/supplier qualifications and product testing
- Establish on-going training on welding methods, procedures, processes, welding symbols, design document reading
- Review and recommend welding equipment to maintain currency and proficiency in technical improvements associated with best-practice welding processes.
- Coordinate and evaluate trials on new formulations of welding wire in making/approving for process implementation.
- Persistent investigation for opportunities to improve welder performance and increase productivity
- Direct involvement in troubleshooting welding issues and provide corrective and preventive actions
Education & Training:
- Bachelor of Science in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or Metallurgy
- Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
