    About the Role

Joyful Jobs is recruiting on behalf of ZevAntiques, a boutique auction house specializing in antique arms and armor, fine art, jewelry, and rare collectibles, to find their next Auction Cataloger.

This is a full-time, hands-on role ideal for someone with a passion for history, research, and storytelling through objects. You’ll work directly with ZevAntiques’ expert team to prepare detailed, accurate, and engaging auction listings for fascinating historical items — from swords and daggers to paintings and antique jewelry.

If you’re a curious, detail-oriented individual who loves learning and uncovering the stories behind unique artifacts, this is an opportunity to turn your passion into a profession.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research & Identification: Examine and research antiques, arms, armor, art, jewelry, and other collectibles to accurately identify and describe items.

    • Cataloging: Write compelling, detailed, and accurate descriptions for each item in the auction software, ensuring consistency and precision.

    • Organization: Maintain records and tracking of items from intake through auction completion.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with the photographer, auction manager, and ownership team to ensure each catalog (typically 300–400 lots) is completed on time and to a high standard.

    • Verification: Assess item authenticity, quality, and condition when possible; collaborate with experts as needed.

    • Auction Preparation: Assist with item intake, tagging, lot organization, and verification prior to each auction.

    • Continuous Learning: Build expertise in antique arms and armor under the mentorship of senior staff, including co-owner Vlad, and take initiative to self-teach through research and observation.
