Schedule: Weekends & Federal Holidays (Onsite)
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to provide onsite weekend and holiday psychiatric coverage within a federal medical center setting in Louisville, KY.
This role supports adult patients in an inpatient and/or emergency care environment and requires strong clinical judgment, crisis assessment skills, and the ability to work independently in a structured healthcare system.

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
Perform medication management and treatment planning
Provide inpatient psychiatric coverage during weekends and federal holidays
Conduct suicide risk assessments and crisis intervention
Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams
Document encounters in electronic medical record system
Participate in admission and discharge assessments as needed

MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of accredited Psychiatry residency program
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active, unrestricted medical license (Kentucky preferred)
Active DEA registration
Minimum 2 years of post-residency clinical experience
Experience in inpatient or emergency psychiatry preferred

Experience working within federal or government healthcare systems
Experience treating veterans or complex adult psychiatric populations
Familiarity with structured credentialing environments

Must pass federal background investigation
Must meet credentialing and privileging requirements
Malpractice insurance required (coverage assistance may be available)
