HIRING IMMEDIATELY- EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST 1/COMMUNITY

ONTARIO ARC of CANANDAIGUA, NY, a Human Services Agency, is seeking to hire a FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST 1 FOR OUR EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAM to support individuals with developmental disabilities in obtaining or maintaining competitive employment in a general workplace setting working alongside workers without disabilities. This role may assist with job development and initial training, as well as ongoing support needed.

EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists individuals with developmental disabilities in seeking and maintaining gainful employment to include job searching and completing applications as requested.
• Performs job coaching to individuals in a one-on-one setting and small group settings.
• Utilizes a variety of job coaching techniques to meet the employee and employer needs. This includes identifying and analyzing work to be performed, aiding the employee in mastering job duties, insuring that work performed by the employee meets employer expectations, documentation of progress, noting stabilization and recommending how follow along supports should be provided.
• Ensures and provides excellent customer service to individuals and community employers.
• Serves as a positive role model to individuals and at community employer.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Generally Monday-Friday (8am-4pm), but may include weekend and evening hours based on the coaching needs of the person supported.

WORK LOCATION:

Works in the community across Ontario County, NY.

EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• Two years providing employment related services to a person with individuals with developmental disabilities is required.
• Valid NYS Driver's license.
• Own a reliable vehicle.
