Onyx Paving is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our growing team! This role is responsible for facilitating general employee orientations, maintaining all personnel records and files, facilitating employee benefits enrollment, providing guidance and support to supervisors with respect to employee performance management; responding to unemployment compensation correspondence, and the maintenance of a safe work environment. · Work closely with department managers to facilitate and oversee the on boarding process for new hires as quickly and efficiently as possible · Oversee employee discipline process with management team and ensure proper documentation is kept on file · Enforce company policies as outlined in the employee handbook and improve existing policies as needed · Responsible for OSHA record-keeping and Workers Compensation incidents and reports · Updates CDLs, DOT physicals, and Motor Vehicle Reports on an ongoing basis. Researches any issues with received documentation. · Stays current on Federal, State, and Local DOT compliance regulations. •Stay current on compliance rules and regulations as it pertains to our industry. Be able to take the initiative in creating processes to enforce and manage compliance requirements for our field and office staff. •Facilitate the creation of training materials such as operating manuals and recorded instructional videos. •Maintain all company HR documents such as employee manuals. •Monitor changes in HR laws and ensure basic compliance with relevant regulations. · Responsible for Accident Investigations and ensure claims handling is done in a timely manner to reduce risk to employees and the company. · Manages permits, including vehicle registration and trip reports. · Work closely with Accounting and Payroll departments
Education: Bachelor’s degree or Experience in Business, Human Resources or related field. Current PHR or SPHR certification is highly preferred.
Qualifications: 5+ years of Human Resources Ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency Excellent project management skills, organization skills, and time management skills Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and follow-through skills Knowledge of all aspects of DOT rules and regulations Experience working with Workmans Comp Experience working with Insurance Companies/Claims Broad knowledge of Human Resources Bilingual Spanish a plus Must be able to be reached after hours by phone when needed
