Title: VMO Manager – Supplier Relationship Management

This candidate will work closely with the Director of the VMO to build out the foundation, processes/policies, and artifacts for the newly created 3rd Party Portfolio Management position; aligning to the Director’s established strategic VMO process roadmap.
In addition to developing the framework, this position will hire, mature, and lead the 3rd Party Portfolio Management Team, along with all related activities in this vertical. This leadership role will need to work and partner with Supply Chain Management, Legal and Finance, while operating as a separate entity within the IT Department (ITD).
This management function will provide input to the overall VMO strategy and planning. This person will ensure the availability and quality of the related VMO services that are delivered to our clients, and support value-added and mutually beneficial relationships with 3rd Parties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with VMO Director to develop and implement VMO policies, standards, processes, procedures, and tools and provide training and communications on the above to users of the VMO services.
- Lead all activities related to the development and supervision of Supplier Management.
- Create the Performance Management discipline, inclusive of the processes and artifacts for Scorecard, SLA/O &KPIs, Innovation, and other required metrics.
- Interact with various IT functions to ensure IT service delivery is consistent and effectively meets the needs of the business.
- Promotes the continued education, training, and refinement of themselves and their staff.
- Communicates appropriate corporate compliance standards and procedures for all department employees.
- Supervises and administers hiring and firing, performance reviews and evaluations, staff counseling, etc. for the department.
Additional Responsibilities for Supplier Relationship Management
- Develop and oversee the processes for Supplier Segmentation and Rationalization.
- Engineer the Contract Management (CM) function; both for fulltime Contract Managers and Contract Management as an added responsibility to current FTEs. Additionally, develop the training for all Contract Management activities.
- Establish the Relationship Management discipline, inclusive of Strategic Partners, Issue Resolution, Development and Improvement. Additionally, develop the end-to-end roles and responsibilities for effective Supplier Management.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in either Supply Chain & Logistics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration
- Additional four years progressively responsible Procurement and/or IT experience may substitute for the degree requirement in addition to the experience requirements listed below.
Certifications:
- Applicable certifications within healthcare, information technology and supply chain are preferred but not required. Examples (CSCP, CPSM, PMP, CPHIMS).
Work Experience:
- Must have minimum 5 years’ experience working in a VMO or Strategic Sourcing organization with at least 2 years’ leadership experience
- Experience working in a Healthcare system is a plus; not a requirement
- Experience in sourcing activities (e.g., RFxs), 3rd Party contract development and management, and/or management of 3rd Party relationships.
- Should have a strong information technology background to include one or more of the following:
- IT Infrastructure technology, service and support, IT Applications development, maintenance and support, Network design, operations and support, IT Distributed Systems and Collaboration Technologies service and support
- Must have experience developing line of business policies and procedures
- Must have worked with Senior Partners both within IT and outside of IT.
- Must be able to socialize objectives and garner support.
- Must be able to work as both an individual contributor, building out the required VMO foundations, and the leader of a team.
- Outstanding organizational, managerial, and interpersonal relationship skills required.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in both written and oral media, and work well within a team.

- Must have worked-on and/or developed Performance, Relationship, and Contract Management end-to-end functions; including processes and artifacts.
