Job Description
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
_ Accounting and Banking_
· Perform general accounting and other related duties
· Maintain the General Ledger on QuickBooks Online
· Record all donations in donor software, which integrates into QuickBooks. Prepare deposit and take to the Bank
· Check daily bank accounts and post any auto deductions into QuickBooks
· Verify payment of invoices and ensure payments are charged to appropriate General Ledger accounts
· Reconcile bank accounts to General Ledger monthly
· Maintain Chart of Accounts
· Track private Grant revenue and expenditures
· Track governmental Grant (VA, HUD) revenue and expenditures
· Close out books monthly and prepare financial statements to present to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors
· Close out books quarterly and prepare departmental budget balances and reports to present to each departmental director
· Prepare annual Budgets-Process from beginning to end. Coordinate with Finance Committee Chair, Personnel Committee Chair and Executive Director
· Semi-Filing of NC State Sales Tax refund
· Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
_ Human Resources_
Payroll and Personnel Files
· Prepare payroll journal entries to outside payroll processor
· Maintain and update Personal Files
· Update I-9’s as needed
· Employee New Hire paperwork
· Employee Termination paperwork
· Maintain Vacation/Sick Time

** Work Specific Requirements** :
· Background in accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable and bank reconciliations. CPA is not required, but is a plus.
· Background in payroll preparation.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and QuickBooks (or other similar accounting software).
· Proficiency in donor relationship management software, aka customer relationship management software, such as Bloomerang, (or other similar CRM tools).
· Strong commitment to customer service. A knack for paying close attention to detail
· A background check along with reference check is required for this position
· Physical requirements – remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time; ability to lift 25 pounds; ability to stoop, bend, push, kneel, squat, pull, reach, stand, walk and sit
