THE RATE OF PAY FOR THIS POSITION IS $16 - $17/HOUR FOR AWAKE DAYTIME AND AWAKE OVERNIGHT SHIFTS, AND $15.50/HOUR FOR ASLEEP OVERNIGHT SCHEDULES

OPEN DOOR SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES is a Supported Living Service agency that supports adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities in their homes and in their communities.

We are looking for positive people for our DIRECT SUPPORT PERSONNEL (DSP) positions. DSPs work with our clients to help them live as independently as possible. This is a Direct Support position that provides in-home and in-community support to adults served by our agency.

THIS IS AN ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION! You do NOT need prior experience!

WE STAFF FOR INDIVIDUALS IN THE GREATER SACRAMENTO AREAS, INCLUDING SACRAMENTO, CARMICHAEL, WEST SACRAMENTO, FAIR OAKS, SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CITRUS HEIGHTS, ROSEVILLE, EL DORADO AND OTHER SURROUNDING AREAS!

DSPs assist our clients in a variety of ways, such as:

• Personal care tasks/skills, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, meal planning/preparation, ambulation, medical monitoring, and healthcare-related tasks. We are fostering positive relationships.
• Ensuring consumers' safety and maintaining a safe environment
• Reminding/assisting consumers with self-administration of medications (with proper training)
• Encouraging self-help activities
• Teach/perform home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning
• Planning meals, shopping for groceries, preparing and serving food/meals, and clean-up
• Accompanying consumers with scheduled appointments and activities in the community
• Transporting consumers or running errands with consumers

SCHEDULES

Open Door SLS is a 24/7 agency that staffs both full-time and part-time schedules.

*OPEN AVAILABILITY IS PREFERRED, AND NOT EVERY TYPE OF SHIFT IS AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES. SCHEDULES AND HOURS CAN VARY, AND SCHEDULES CAN CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE BASED ON THE NEEDS OF OUR CLIENTS, THE AGENCY, OR THE HIRING TEAM

WAGES

• The wage for a Direct Support Personnel is $16 to $17 per hour for awake daytime hours and awake overnight hours.
• The wage for overnight sleeping shifts is $15.50/hour.
• Direct Support Personnel are required to register with In-Home Support Services (IHSS), and hours provided from IHSS are paid at a rate of $16.50/hour for Sacramento County, $15.90/hour for Sutter/Placer County, and $16.15/hour for Yuba County.

BENEFITS

Open Door SLS makes benefits such as medical, dental, and vision available to full-time staff following a 60–90-day period. Staff can also accrue vacation and sick time, receive mileage reimbursement, as well as other benefits! Mileage reimbursement is $.57 cents per mile

• CPR/First Aid certification is a requirement for this position -- if new staff do not have this at their time of hire Open Door SLS will provide direction in obtaining this certification
