Job Summary
We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP), CNA, or PCA to join our team! You will serve as a direct care worker having direct responsibility and supervision of the individuals to whom he/she is assigned. Oversee physical care, development of acceptable habits and attitudes; management of individual behavior, and helping to meet the goals and objectives of any service plan. Participate in individual day support assessments; ensuring the daily needs of the individuals are properly met. Assist with administering medications. Transport individuals to and from training and community activities as assigned. DSPs will provide direct supervision and guidance to ensure the safety and welfare of individuals. Observe individuals daily for behavioral changes, physical injuries/conditions, and cleanliness, and conduct by the Individual Service Plan. Performs required housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
Responsibilities
Assist patients with daily activities such as moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles
Care for patients by changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning the home, or assisting with personal care
Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with the supervisor
Build relationships with patients by conversing or reading aloud to help keep them mentally healthy and alert
Give medications and immunizations
Engage patients in exercises or other activities
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
One year prior professional experience
Good written and oral communication skills
