    SUMMARY:  

    Open Mortgage, a nationwide residential mortgage lender, is looking for Loan Officers to join the company who are prepared to make a difference in the lives of customers looking to buy or refinance a home. The Loan Originator will be responsible for discussing clients’ needs, recommending the best loan products, helping customers put together a complete loan package and working with the processing and underwriting team throughout the loan process.     JOB DUTIES:   

    • Meet with customers to determine their needs and recommend the right loan products to help meet their goals  
    • Maintain an active knowledge base of all of the organization’s loan products and an understanding of the qualifications required of each applicant  
    • Identify and recommend products that meet the customer’s needs and the organization’s lending guidelines  
    • Review active loan files each day to determine if any documents are missing or what can be done to help the process along  
    • Utilize professional judgement to determine which potential borrowers represent good risk opportunities for the organization  
    • Evaluate loan applications and documentation by confirming credit worthiness  
    • Improves loan applications and documentation by informing applicant of additional requirement  
    • Approve loans by issuing checks or forwarding applications to loan committee  
    • Complete loan contracts by explaining provisions to applicant, obtaining signatures and notarization, and collecting fees  
    • Keep loan information confidential  
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, or participating in professional

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   

    • Current registration under the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry  
    • Proven track record of successfully working with multiple referral sources  
    • Strong knowledge of home purchase transactions  
    • 2+ years of experience in the consumer loan industry  
    • 2+ years of experience in the mortgage industry  
    • Ability to manage a pipeline and fund at least 2 loans per month  
    • Good working knowledge of loan underwriting guidelines, processing and closing functions  
    • Ability to work under pressure  
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills
