    OpenDrives makes high-performance data storage a reality using our unique combination of hardware and software. Our industry-leading performance, comprehensive simplicity, and astonishing support have generated many loyal fans including Hollywood blockbusters, medical imaging specialists, and cutting-edge technology companies. While we are extremely proud of where we are today with OpenDrives, there is far more we plan to do.

    We are seeking a Technical Writer to produce documentation about our products and services for our internal teams and our external partners and customers. We like to joke that software is easy, people are hard, and so cultivating culture is an important part of OpenDrives' success. The ideal candidate is passionate about making complex concepts easy to understand.  They will reside within the Product Team, but will work closely with team members throughout the organization.

    Please be prepared to share samples of technical documentation.

    WHAT YOU GET TO DO IN THIS ROLE:

    • Write product and technical documentation for users, developers, and internal teams for product releases and updates.
    • Collaborate with Marketing around releases to ensure messaging and content is aligned to feature delivery.
    • Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience to create documentation that communicates information in a clear, concise manner. 
    • Analyze the target audience and craft documents to best meet the audience's level of knowledge.
    • Develop engaging, helpful content by using images, diagrams, lists, charts, and headings.
    • Measure and evaluate content effectiveness to optimize the customer education experience.

    WHO YOU ARE:

    • Have 3+ years experience writing product feature content and/or process or planning documents, and/or writing technical blogs or books.
    • Produced end-user product documentation for a software application or technology.
    • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences. 
    • Ability to work in a very fast paced environment and handle multiple projects.
    • Excellent Communicator. Superior writing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a diverse audience. 
    • Detail-oriented. Nothing gets overlooked when it comes to you.
    • Energetic and Creative. Energy and enthusiasm are your hallmarks. You can create globalized content to industry and company standards.
    • Are a self-starter who is interested in coming into a role that is not 100% defined and working with the team to establish the role within the team and company.
