OpenDrives makes high performance, network attached storage (NAS) for Media, Entertainment, Education, and Health Care. Backed by a recent $20M capital raise, we are positioning ourselves to become the new leader in storage technology. Leveraging our industry expertise, open mindsets, and affinity for solving hard problems, we intend to disrupt the storage market space. 

Our Technology department is looking for Systems Engineer humans who are easy going, self motivated, and understand how to prioritize and execute on teammate and company needs. This position is for non-holograms only.

THE SELECTED INDIVIDUAL WILL...

As a Systems Administrator, you are the first point of contact for internal technology issues and  projects. You will be a conduit of technical knowledge. You will be responsible for investigating issues, identifying the root cause, and implementing solutions to resolve issues in a timely manner. 

Outside of internal technical issues, you will be in charge of managing tech projects, helping with Operations projects, and being a generally cool human capable of bridging communication to technology with all the teams in our organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Acting as the primary point of contact for co-workers and vendors regarding new technology issues or questions
• Collaborating with the Operations and Technology team when guidance is needed
• Generating documentation for processes and features
• Manage Virtual Environments
• Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools for all internal systems
• Oversee company's security, backup, and redundancy strategies
• Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
• Contribute to the design of technology and operational support systems
• Work together with vendors and other Technology personnel for problem resolution
• Reminding people what the wifi password is

EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND OTHER QUALITIES WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You are savvy with Mac OS or Windows & consider yourself pretty darn good with computers. You excel under pressure while remaining calm. You are organized and thorough. You pick up new technologies with ease, and you understand the concepts surrounding deadlines.

You communicate clearly and know when to flex your technical expertise vs when to carefully explain that the computer isn't "scared of getting powered off at night".

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to communicate with customers, peers, and management in a professional manner
• Ability to multi-task simultaneously with multiple projects and staff members
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be willing to work some nights and weekends
• Must be close to Culver City, CA
• You completed the High School or College

• People have told you that you are "pleasant to be around."
• You have System administration certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or network-related fields
• You have an understanding of network routing, tcp/ip, ethernet, LACP, and other networking technology
• You have an understanding of Linux
• You like hearing about different types of plants in detail from your coworker(s)
• You have working knowledge of Windows administration and other enterprise technologies
