  • Responsibilities

    The purpose of the HR Coordinator position is to assist with the day to day operations and duties of the HR function, provide administrative support to members of the HR team and be a resource to company associates regarding HR related matters while professionally demonstrating the values of the HR department and company. This includes supporting recruiting and on-boarding of associates, compliance initiatives, and employee engagement and maintaining relevant documents, records and reports to support department, company and legal requirements.

     

    After gaining experience, there is the potential for this position to expand into a more encompassing role within the Human Resources team.

     

    The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

     

    • Assist with recruitment and on-boarding processes; administrate the application tracking system; maintain job postings; schedule interviews; conduct pre-employment screening procedures (drug screening, background checks, reference checks); communicate with job applicants regarding positions and status. Process new hire paperwork.

    • Field incoming phone calls and email messages; answer general inquiries and requests for information providing follow-up as necessary.

    • Provide support to compliance initiatives; maintain and distribute reports, gather information and assist with preparation for compliance audits. Maintain required legal postings. 

    • Coordinate vendors for human resources and facilities. Process invoices. Assist company visitors and provide back-up support for company inquires.

    • Support employee engagement and communications; coordinate recognition and service award programs. Provide support for company functions through coordination of events and creating presentations. Support internal communications via emails and maintaining internal web portals.

    • Audit and maintain personnel and other files; research and collect missing information and process status changes reviewing for accuracy.

    • Responsible for understanding and complying with all company policies that are applicable to job function and participate in mandatory training in a timely manner.

     

    Required Skills

    • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.

    • Demonstrated ability in using computer and Windows PC applications, with strong knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

    • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.

    • Strong organizational skills including ability to prioritize a variety of tasks/projects.

    • Ability to meet strict deadlines.

    • High accuracy and attention to details.

    • Familiar with employment/ HR related terminology and processes.

     

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursing) in Human Resources, Business or related field of study.

    • 2 years office experience required.

    • 1 year experience working within either an HR department or recruiting organization.

    • Pursuit or attainment of PHR or SHRM-CP or other HR designation preferred.
