This Amberfication is supported by our growing US team and we are looking for a PRODUCT DATA AND RISK STRATEGY LEAD to join us.

    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

    In this role you will enable Opy USA's market expansion, profitability improvement, and risk management through data-driven enhancements to the US product set and associated capabilities, including underwriting methods, customer experience, transaction monitoring, and marketing strategies.  Some of your responsibilities will include:

    • Developing and implementing strategies for:
      • Enabling greater penetration, lower delinquency, and more profitable performance among subprime and thin/no file consumers
      • Leveraging alternative data to enhance product design, consumer access, and conversion
      • Leveraging consumer-authorized data to enhance further product performance
    • Helping to define the product vision and strategy for Openpay's US Offerings with the help of the Chief Product & Compliance Officer and Product Managers
    • Integrating risk and expansion strategies into roadmaps and engagement/experience plans for key external stakeholders, including consumers, merchants, and funding partners; balance short- and long-term goals and investments
    • Identifying, vetting and integrating potential business and technical partnerships key for product development in areas related to identity verification, fraud management, and credit risk management
    • Supporting development and enhancement of AML, FCRA, ECOA and related compliance strategies 
    • Leading product development initiatives, aligning key internal and external stakeholders, including leadership team, on prioritization, resourcing, and reporting 
    • Liaising with technology teams for seamless transition of business requirements to functional requirements and release management 
    • Building strong, collaborative relationships across risk management, strategy, development, finance, compliance, and commercial teams
    • Managing key vendor relationships

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • 8+ years of relevant work experience in payments at a fintech, financial institution, retailer or E-commerce; prior experience in consumer lending / BNPL space is a plus
    • A strong understanding of the consumer credit and financing markets, including BNPL and credit cards, virtual cards, and the rules and regulations surrounding BNPL
    • Deep knowledge of consumer reporting markets, including stakeholders and business models related to alternative data and fraud and credit risk management solutions
    • Demonstrated track record of working with payments companies as partner, vendor, or supplier
    • Experience in building, managing and leading a high-performing product design team in a fast paced environment
    • The proven ability to work with product stakeholders across multiple geographies to build comprehensive product strategies
    • The ability to quickly build relationships with key partners across the enterprise
    • A aillingness to roll up sleeves in a start-up like environment
    • The ability to adapt to fast growth and organizational expansion
