    Job Description

OPERA COLORADO SEEKS INDIVIDUALS TO PARTICIPATE IN RIGOLETTO AS COURTESAN AND COURTIER SUPERNUMERARIES

Supernumeraries serve as characters in non-singing/non-speaking supporting roles, like extras in film and TV (THIS IS AN UNPAID VOLUNTEER POSITION)

Opera Colorado invites members of the community to apply for non-singing supernumerary roles in its upcoming production of Verdi’s Rigoletto. A supernumerary (usually referred to as a super) contributes to the production by acting in a non-speaking/non-singing role, like being an extra in a movie.

    • We will need seven to nine women to appear as courtesans in act one, scene one of the production and they will likely be paired up on stage with a chorus man for the scene of the party thrown by the Duke.
    • We will also need three men who are courtiers and one man who will start as a courtier and then change into a guard.
    • We ask that applicants be available for all performances.
