Durango Outpatient Surgery Center has a PRN opening for an Operating Room Assistant.
Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. Our mission is to provide first-class surgical services to the local community in a safe, comfortable, welcoming environment, one in which we would be happy to treat our own families. We have 5 operating rooms offering a full range of surgical procedures including: Bariatrics, Colorectal, General Surgery/Robotics, GI, OB/Gynecology, Sports Medicine, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Spine.
What You Will Do (Job Summary):
Monday-Friday work schedule
NO call required
NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours
Required Skills
High School diploma or GED
Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
1+ year experience in direct patient care. Previous experience in an OR or ASC, knowledge of sterile technique, and equipment handling experience is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Current BLS accredited by AHA
Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and move patients and equipment safely.

Required Experience
High School diploma or GED
Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
