Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a fast-paced acute care surgical environment in Kansas City, Missouri.

This role is ideal for perioperative nurses with circulating and/or scrub experience who thrive in high-acuity settings and value teamwork, precision, and patient safety. The OR RN plays a critical role in ensuring safe surgical care across a broad range of procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients prior to surgery and provide perioperative education to patients and families

• Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy, medications, and surgical site verification

• Participate in surgical briefings, time-outs, and debriefings in accordance with universal protocols

• Circulate and/or scrub for surgical procedures as assigned

• Monitor patient condition throughout procedures and respond to emergent situations

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care and intraoperative events

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and nursing colleagues

• Apply evidence-based practices to support quality outcomes and patient safety

Qualifications

Required

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri or compact eligible)

• 1+ year of recent Operating Room RN experience (scrub and/or circulating)

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA) within 30 days of hire

• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

• Experience across multiple surgical specialties
