Our client, an international manufacturer, is seeking an Operational Excellence (OpEx) Engineer to drive continuous improvement across assembly operations at their facility in Greenville, SC.

This role focuses on optimizing assembly methods, improving standards and quality, and leading cross-functional improvement initiatives involving Technology Implementation, Data Analytics, LEAN, 5S, and Ergonomics. 

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret work instructions, wiring diagrams, and quality control documents

• Read and interpret assembly drawings and technical specifications
  

• Analyze production KPIs to identify gaps and lead improvement initiatives

• Implement LEAN principles with strong focus on visual management

• Lead change management initiatives through coaching and training
  

• Create Value Stream Maps to simulate material and information flow
  

• Conduct semi-annual assembly process audits
  

• Track and compare year-over-year improvements in labor, spend, and time metrics
  

• Monitor material expenses and labor-hour cost savings
  

Qualifications

• BS in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  

• 2–5 years in a manufacturing/assembly environment
  

• Proven experience implementing LEAN manufacturing principles
  

• Strong data analytics skills (PowerBI, Excel)
  

• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
  

• Experience with AutoCAD and Power BI
  

• Strong cross-functional communication skills
  

• Low-volume, engineer-to-order manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  

• 5S and auditing experience strongly preferred
