    POSITION SUMMARY

    Abiomed’s global Operational Excellence Team oversees and manages all manufacturing and logistics efficiency programs that drive the company towards its corporate goal of “Operational Excellence”. As part of this team, you will have a major impact on driving the organization towards world class standards and ensuring cohesive programs that are driven throughout the organization globally. In this position, you will develop a broad process improvement skillset that includes driving effective change in a fast-paced, highly regulated industry.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support global continuous improvement activities and projects in production, quality inspection, and logistics by utilizing standardized lean tools and methods to achieve scale-up goals.
    • Utilize data analysis to measure the effectiveness and impact of process improvement initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
    • Facilitate Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement and quick implementation in the organization.
    • Work directly with manufacturing associates with a “hands-on” mentality to identify opportunities for process improvement projects.
    • Work in cross-functional teams that span global operations.
    • Assume role as change agent to support teams through process changes.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, such as Industrial, Mechanical, or Biomedical engineering, or relevant degrees.
    • Knowledge of lean methodologies & continuous improvement techniques, such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar.
    • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision.
    • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • A passion for medical devices and making a positive impact on patients.
