Job Description
The Operations Houseman is a key member of the Operations team, responsible for supporting the day-to-day functionality of the property by assisting with event setups, guest experiences, furniture moves, and operational projects. This role works across multiple departments to ensure guest-facing spaces are properly arranged, equipment is delivered where needed, and special requests are executed efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. A strong team player with a proactive mindset, the Houseman helps create seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences through behind-the-scenes support.
Essential Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Event Support
Set up and break down guest experiences, special events, and resort activities.
Arrange furniture, décor, equipment, and amenities according to departmental standards.
Deliver and stage guest requests, including cribs, rollaway beds, luggage racks, and other amenities.
Ensure all event and guest spaces are clean, organized, and presentation-ready before and after use.
Work closely with Events, Food & Beverage, and Guest Services to execute memorable guest experiences
Furniture Moving & Property Support
Safely move furniture, mattresses, equipment, and other heavy items throughout the property.
Assist with room moves, seasonal furniture changes, and special projects.
Support department relocations and office moves as needed.
Report damaged furniture or equipment to the appropriate department.
Public Area Maintenance
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of public spaces, corridors, meeting rooms, and service areas.
Remove debris and ensure walkways remain clean and safe.
Team Collaboration
Respond promptly to radio calls and guest requests.
Support multiple departments as business needs require.
Promote a positive, professional, and guest-focused work environment.
Follow all safety procedures when lifting, transporting, and storing equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous hospitality or facilities experience is preferred but not required.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance.
Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
Safely operate carts, dollies, and other moving equipment.
Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions as business requires.
