Operations Manager
Location: Gordon, Nebraska
This role oversees all day-to-day business functions across retail, agronomy, feed mill, warehouse, grain, and the outside sales team. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can lead people, manage processes, and create a culture of teamwork and accountability across departments.

What You Will Be Doing
Overall Leadership & Communication
- Provide daily operational leadership for all service areas, with a strong emphasis on communication between departments and with customers.
- Ensure clear, timely communication between retail, outside sales, mill, warehouse, and administrative teams.
- Support a culture of safety, accountability, and service-driven performance.
Retail Operations
- Oversee store operations, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service expectations.
- Support store managers and staff through coaching, scheduling, and performance feedback.
Outside Sales Team Management
- Lead and mentor the outside sales group, ensuring alignment with company goals, margins, and customer growth plans.
- Facilitate weekly sales meetings, customer updates, and cross-department communication.
Feed Mill & Warehouse Oversight
- Oversee feed production, quality control, feed scheduling, and compliance.
- Manage warehouse operations including shipping/receiving, product accuracy, inventory rotation, and facility organization.
- Ensure mill and warehouse safety programs, equipment maintenance, and workflow efficiency.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor financial performance, margins, labor efficiency, and operational KPIs.
- Coordinate with the GM on budgets, capital improvements, and annual operational plans.
- Assist with grain, agronomy, and energy operations as needed to ensure continuity and customer service.
- Implement process improvements, training programs, and best practices.
Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience within a cooperative, agribusiness, feed mill, grain operation, or agricultural retail environment.
- Strong communication skills—able to keep teams aligned, informed, and engaged.
- Experience managing multiple departments or teams.
- Solid understanding of operational workflows, inventory management, safety, and compliance.
- Ability to mentor employees and build a positive culture.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable making decisions, communicating expectations, and holding people accountable.
- Community-oriented mindset and commitment to customer relationships.
